GPT Image 2.6, dictation, citations and Lineage

Hi, it’s David. Here’s what we shipped since the last update.

Cite part of a reply

Selecting a sentence in Bento’s reply, pressing Cite, adding a note about a $300 budget, and getting an answer about that exact sentence

Long replies are hard to talk about. “That bit in step two” works with a person, but an agent can easily guess the wrong bit. Now you can point at it.

Select any text in the chat, in your agent’s replies or your own messages, and press Cite. Add a note if you like, then send. Your agent gets the exact words you picked along with your note, so it answers the part you meant. You can cite more than one passage in the same message. Click a citation in the chat box to change its note before you send.

Jump back to the source

Opening a sent citation and choosing Go to source, which scrolls back to the quoted sentence and highlights it

Citations stay in the conversation. Click one to see the quote and your note, then choose Go to source to scroll back to the passage, highlighted.

Talk instead of type

In a chat about an opening menu, tapping the microphone, saying “Add an oat milk option to each one”, and sending it straight away to get the updated menu

When the chat box is empty, its send button is a microphone. Tap it and talk. Press Stop to check and edit what you said before you send it, or Send to send it straight away. Your words are ready as soon as you stop. Bento listens with your conversation in mind, so names and technical terms come out right. Dictation is free.

See the side chats your agent starts

Opening Lineage from a chat to see the side chats it started, grouped as Needs you, Running and Finished, opening one, then going back to the parent chat

When your agent starts chats for side work, they no longer fill your sidebar. Click Lineage in the chat’s header to see them, grouped into what needs you, what’s running and what’s finished. Open one to check in, and Back to parent chat takes you back. To start a fresh chat with any agent, use the + next to it in the sidebar.

GPT Image 2.6, with animated GIFs

Asking Bento for an animated Instagram GIF of a steaming latte, and the GIF playing in the chat with steam curling above the cup

Bento now makes images with GPT Image 2.6, OpenAI’s newest image model, and it can make animated GIFs too. Describe what you want and what should move. The GIF plays right in the chat, ready for a post, an email or your website.

Also new

  • Open images and play audio in chat. Click an image to open it full size, with zoom and download. Audio files play right in the conversation.
  • Agents show the files they mention. When a reply mentions a file on your drive, it links to it, not just names it. Click a link to open the file. Images, video and audio show right in the reply.
  • Connect more than one account. Connect a work and a personal Gmail, or several accounts of any integration, and your agent can use the one you name.
